The Cupcake Cruiser

With the shop so busy, my wife asked me to take over the “Cupcake Cruiser” scheduling and blogs.  So she ask me to send out a message, for this week, stating that the Cruiser would NOT be out this week, due to a number of previous scheduled events. (Teacher appreciation day, employee appreciation day, and a couple of senior parties.)  So Monday morning I sat down and wrote out a blog, explaining this weeks situation, plus our plans to return to our regular routes, next week.  I then saved it, for the bosses (my wife) approval.  But then…. I NEVER released it !!!!

It wasn’t until this morning, when one of our regular customers called looking for us, that I realized my “Rookie Blogger” mistake.

So PLEASE accept my sincere apology and I promise that I will do better, next week.  And even though this will give my grandkids a big laugh (since they think Papa shouldn’t be allowed near the computer) , I’m also trying to prove them wrong. That “yes”, you CAN… “teach an old dog, new tricks”!!!

The “Cupcake Cruiser” Rides Again!!!

Hello everyone!!!
We are soooo excited to announce that the “Cupcake Cruiser” will be back on the streets!! After a couple of weeks down, during the ownership change, it is ready to go again.

And yes, you did just read…”New ownership”!!!? As of April 1st, my daughter and I purchased The Sweet Tooth. And after a short time to “settle in”, we are now ready to offer the same great product, and service, that you have experienced over the past couple of years.

So be ready for us to once again visit your area, with a wide selection of our great cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. And if you ever find yourself out in the Blue Springs area, please stop by and visit our shop @ 3100 S. Hwy 7 (64014). We would love to meet you.

This Week’s Sweet News – March 24

The Sweet Tooth on the day of our Grand Opening.

This might be one of the hardest week’s Amy and I will have to go through.  This Saturday, March 29th will be our last day operating The Sweet Tooth.  We built this company from the ground up starting almost 4 years ago with just an idea.  We are proud of what we were able to accomplish and amazed by the outpouring of support we have received over the years.  We could not have done all of this alone, we have the best staff, customers and community that helped make this possible. It’s bitter sweet for us, it’s going to be hard for us to walk away from The Sweet Tooth but we feel good knowing we are passing the business on to another amazing local family.  We hope you can take some time and visit The Sweet Tooth during our last week.  Thanks again for all the support!

This Week’s Sweet News – March 17

Last Friday we announced that The Sweet Tooth was sold and everyone is excited that The Shop and Cupcake Cruiser will remain open!  Amy and I will work closely with the new owners over the next couple weeks to make sure the transition is as smooth as possible.  We started The Sweet Tooth about 4 years ago, and put a lot of work into growing the company into what it is today.  We have an amazing staff that we have grown very close to over the past few years, and a loyal and supportive customer base.  We are so proud to pass The Sweet Tooth on to new owners that plan on keeping the business here in Blue Springs and building on what we started.  Amy and I are looking forward to visiting The Sweet Tooth for Cupcakes, Cookies and other goodies as often as we can for many years to come.  Stay tuned for more information and be sure to stop in and visit us often in the next couple weeks!

Back in 2009, before The Sweet Tooth was even an idea in our minds, Amy and I met Lisa Covington.  Lisa has been battling cancer since 2001 and has a goal of meeting Ellen DeGeneres. We want to do what we can to help Lisa achieve her goal.  In the years we have known Lisa, she has been such an inspiration to us.  She is always smiling and upbeat, no matter how many treatments she may have gone through.  When we found out there was a surprise flash mob for Lisa, we sent The Cupcake Cruiser to help fuel the dancers.  You can view the video below.

The Sweet Tooth – Sold

We are excited to announce that we accepted an offer, signed all the paper work and will begin showing the new owner the ropes starting next week!  With that said, The Sweet Tooth will remain open in Blue Springs!  Amy and I plan to stay on until the end of the month and will work closely with the new owners to ensure a smooth transition with little downtime.  While it has been very hard for us to stomach the thought of letting The Sweet Tooth go, we feel comfortable passing it on to new owners with plans of building from what we started.  Stay tuned for details about the new owners.

About 2 weeks ago, Amy and I announced that we would be stepping away from The Sweet Tooth.  We are truly touched by all the love and the support we have received in the last two weeks.  We have a lot of people coming in and commenting how sad they are that we are closing.  We wanted to make sure that everyone knows that our goal is to sell The Sweet Tooth and pass this amazing business on to someone else to take care of it, and grow it.  We have received a great deal of interest from groups looking to purchase the business, and hopefully we will find the perfect people to take The Sweet Tooth over.

This is a hard post to write, I must admit I have procrastinated this post for as long as possible.  Amy and I have decided it’s time for us to move on from The Sweet Tooth.  We have thought long and hard about it, and went back and forth about this decision.  Owning a business comes with a lot of long hours and we were not able to find the perfect balance with the demands of a growing business and a family.  Amy and I will be with The Sweet Tooth until March 29th.  We are putting the business up for sale, so if you know anyone that is interested in owning a cupcakery, send them our way.  We would like to thank everyone for the love and the support over the past 4 years.  Be sure to come by the shop and visit The Cupcake Cruiser whenever you can over the next month or so and help send us off with a bang!

This Week’s Sweet News – February 17

We had lots of orders and deliveries, but we made it through our busiest week of the year!  We got to see so many happy customers come visit us at The Shop and on The Cupcake Cruiser.  We also sent out our mini variety packs on The Cupcake Cruiser, and they were extremely popular!  We are going to make them again and send even more out on The Cruiser this week.  You get a random assortment of 12 mini cupcakes, prepackaged and ready to go for only $10!  Grab one and share the cupcakes with your friends and co-workers (or eat them all yourself if you’d like).  Be sure to reserve some the day before your cruise on our Facebook Page, because they sell out quickly.
