3/24 – National Cash Mob Day at Blue Springs Cupcakery

A cash mob as defined by Wikipedia “Is a group of people who assemble at a local business and all buy items from that business. The purpose of these mobs is to support both the local businesses and the overall community. They may also serve a secondary purpose in providing social opportunities. They were inspired by Flash Mobs.” This is such a great idea, buy local and boost the local economy.

As in the name, customers often spend cash at these events. By spending cash, they help the business owners by eliminating credit card processing fees. The amount most customers come prepared to spend is $20. Depending on the number of customers attending the mob, local owned businesses can earn a good amount of cash in a short period of time. Cash Mobs are a great way to introduce new customers to a business. These are also social or networking events, mobsters may also meet at a nearby restaurant to discuss the event. We like the whole idea of a “Cash Mob” and figured The Sweet Tooth should have one of our own!

We have been doing some research and read something about March 24 being National Cash Mob day, and The Sweet Tooth is going to participate. I don’t know that we are supposed to plan our own Cash Mob, but it’s National Cash Mob Day, we can’t sit on the sideline. On March 24, we are also going to sweeten the deal, we are going to offer one dozen cupcakes for only $19.05! The regular price for a dozen cupcakes is $25, and we did not pick the sale price at random. Once tax is added, it comes out to $20! Plan to come in and support a local, Blue Springs owned, Mom and Pop business and leave with a box of delicious cupcakes for only $20!
