We did a lot of blogging last month based on a challenge I signed up for. We were able to communicate often, but it came it was not easy coming up with content 6 times a week. In addition to random announcements, I will blog every weekend and discuss what happened that week at The Sweet Tooth. I’m going to call it, the Weekly Roundup, and this is issue number 1. We hope you enjoy!
Amy and I have very close connections with Susan G Komen for the Cure – Greater Kansas City Affiliate, based on our past work with The Why Pink Campaign. We were excited that The Sweet Tooth was selected as a vendor at their Survivor Luncheon. As a part of the agreement, each vendor pledged to donate 20% of their sales with a $100 minimum. We were sure how to approach the event, and how we would sell our cupcakes. It did not seem likely that attendees would want to carry cupcakes around for the hours that the event would last. Amy and I discussed it, and decided we could make a lot more people happy if we gave our cupcakes away. So that’s what we did, we donated $100 and gave away 500 mini cupcakes! We had a blast, it was amazing to look up and see how many people were waiting at our booth. We brought 5 different flavors, Peanut Butter Dream, Pucker Up, Life by Chocolate, Very Berry and Jamaican Sensation. It’s hard to say what the crowd favorite was, everything happened so fast. About 10 minutes after the event started, the vendor in the booth next to us told me she was happy she tried the cupcakes before the crowd arrived. I told her, we brought plenty of cupcakes, we have hundreds under the table. About an hour later, she said again, she was happy she tried the cupcakes before the crowd arrive. That time, I had no comment.
It was a great event for a great cause, we look forward to doing this event every year.
Thanks for the Yelp!
One of the last posts we made in April we asked for help, and asked our fans to be xenial. We like to practice what we preach so we are going to do something xenial in return. As of today, May 7, 2011, if you left a review for The Sweet Tooth on either Yelp, Google Places or Urban Spoon, we will give you a gift. Xenial means to give gift to strangers, but I guess our customer’s are not really strangers. Oh well, we are giving them gifts anyway. We love to make our customer’s happy!
We wanted to wish all the mom’s a Happy Mother’s Day! You do so much throughout the year, you deserve the day off (actually more than just one day). Enjoy!
