Unusually Usual

That title is pretty funny and it might not make much sense.  That should not be too surprising to you, by now you should know a lot of things I say don’t make much sense!  Let me explain what I mean with that statement.  If you go into any cupcakery or even bakery anywhere in the country, there is a good chance that three flavors will be on the menu.  Vanilla Cupcake with Vanilla Frosting, Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate Frosting and Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream Cheese Frosting, those are usual occurrences.  I think it might be mandatory that we offer those cupcakes (I’m pretty sure it was on the application we filled out to obtain our food permit).  While The Sweet Tooth offers those flavors, we had to be a bit different or unusual (I guess I could have also just said unique, but what fun is that).

Vanilla Vanilla – It’s not V day (no I don’t mean Valentine’s Day) it’s still U day.  This is the name of our Vanilla Cupcake with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting.  Ours is unusual because we don’t use the typically oversweet vanilla frosting that normally comes on cupcakes.  You know the frosting that is so sweet that it hurts your teeth, you just scrape it off the cake and let your napkin deal with it.  We top our vanilla cupcake with a cherry so it almost looks like the cupcake in our logo, the only thing missing it the sprinkles.  This cupcake might sound plane and normal, but it’s really a treat!

Life by Chocolate – Well the first thing unusual about this cupcake is the name.  We have all heard of Death by Chocolate, but that sounds so negative.  So we went with Life by Chocolate, it fits our mission statement as well.  So you order your Life by Chocolate cupcake, and begin enjoying.  You may notice the high quality cocoa that we use to make the cupcake, or even taste the actual milk chocolate in the silky smooth buttercream frosting.  But you are in for a chocolaty treat when you notice the chocolate chips that are baked into the cupcake.  This cupcake it a chocolate lover’s dream, a life of chocolate.

Rouge – So the name is a little unusual, it’s not named after makeup (well not directly at least).  Rouge means red in French.  What makes this cupcake different it the cream cheese frosting.  This is a recipe that Amy is going to have put under lock and key!  It’s not the typical cream cheese flavored buttercream frosting that normally comes on a red velvet cupcake.  It’s think, rich and is an authentic cream cheese frosting.  People are so surprised the first time they try this cupcake and frosting combination.  We here this all the time when people sample our Rouge cupcake for the first time, “I normally don’t like red velvet cake, but this cupcake is amazing!”

We try to be as unusual and unique as possible when we are coming up with our cupcake flavors.  We thought that was important even when we were coming up with our most usual cupcakes.  We think we pulled it off, what do U think?
