Expecting

Kayla, at 8 weeks (not the new one)

Have you heard the news?  We have a mini cupcake in the oven and we are all so excited!  Amy is about 10 weeks and 4 days along now (actually, that was pretty exact) and the baby is about the size of a lime.  We got to hear the baby’s heart beat last week, and everything sounded just perfect.  Amy and Kayla are wishing for a little baby girl, I would like to have a little boy and Anthony does not really care are long as the new one does not interfere with this video games.  To be perfectly honest, we are all looking forward to the little one, no matter the gender.

Anthony meeting his baby sister for the first time.

The new baby means big changes.  There is a pretty big age gap between Anthony and Kayla, 6 years and Kayla will be 7 years older than her new brother or sister.  It’s enough time to make you really miss having a baby around the house.  Seeing all the cute, amazing things they do and all the milestones they achieve.  It’s also enough time that you almost forget, the sleepless nights, the stinky diapers, and childproofing the house.  Anything Kayla could get her hands on, she put them in her mouth… including her feet!  Anthony would fall asleep anytime we got in the car, even with food in his mouth.  He would just wake up 15 minutes later, and finish chewing it up.  We have some great memories of our two children growing up, and are expecting some new memories when our family grows later this year.

What does this have to do with cupcakes you ask?  Well this is a family business, and we are going to have to make some adjustments to accommodate the new one.  We also made the announcement to Amy’s family with cupcakes that had pacifiers and baby boots.  If you have an announcement to make, or want some great treats at your baby shower, let us know.  We can make some of our “Special Delivery” cupcakes for you!
